Queen's CoronationEach year, five young ladies are selected to represent the Strawberry Festival as our Princesses, and during the Festival one is selected to reign as our Queen. The Queen's Coronation takes place on the Strawberry Festival Main Stage, and the Queen makes her formal debut to the Lebanon Community during the Grand Parade on Saturday morning.
The Queen selection process consists of a dinner with community leaders and judges, a final round of interviews, and the Coronation itself—where each Princess is judged on her formal presentation, an introductory speech, and an answer to an impromptu question. The Junior Court members also take the stage during the Coronation proceedings, and have an opportunity to answer some questions of their own. The Coronation concludes with the prior year's Queen bestowing the honor on the newly crowned Queen, and serves as a kick-off for the evening's entertainment and festivities. |
