Each year, the Lebanon Strawberry Festival selects five young ladies, of Senior standing, from Lebanon area schools to serve as our Royal Court. This is a tradition as old as the Strawberry Festival itself, and provides the opportunity to be part of a legacy of representing Lebanon, be involved in our community, grow in professionalism, and serve as a role model to our youth.
Each candidate completes an application, and goes through a two-part interview process before the final selection is made. In acknowledgement of her diligent work as an ambassador for the Strawberry Festival, each Princess is awarded a scholarship to the school of her choice, with additional funds being awarded to the Queen and Miss Congeniality at our Coronation. For the full list of requirements, please read our Court Application, which is made available at the Lebanon High School, East Linn Christian Academy, and online at the link below, usually in the month of October, for the following year's Festival court. The Royal Court makes many appearances throughout the months leading up to Strawberry Festival and some in the months following. Visits to schools, assisted living communities, clubs and organizations, community events, and parades are just a few of the things Princesses can expect to do.
All necessary clothing, accessories, travel, food and lodging will be provided to the Royal Court during their reign. Princesses will be asked to wear make-up, and may be asked to wear off the shoulder dresses. We expect our Royal Court to conduct themselves with professionalism during the entirety of their reign, exercising good judgment and proper time-management to juggle Court obligations on top of their personal responsibilities. The Court is required to take seriously and lead by example as role models for our youth. Please take these things into consideration to determine if this opportunity is right for you before applying.
